About Junior Champs

A Childcare, Preschool, Kindergarten in Singapore

For more than a decade, Junior Champs has been a trusted partner to families across Singapore, providing quality early childhood education that balances academic readiness with genuine care. Operating under the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA)’s Partner Operator Scheme (POP), we ensure affordable, government-supported fees for families. Our centres are conveniently located in accessible areas, many within shopping malls along major public transport routes, making drop-offs and pick-ups easier for busy working parents.

What makes us different is how we enrich each child’s early school years. Regular celebrations, hands-on projects, community outings, and seasonal events transform learning into discovery. These experiences help children develop confidence, social skills and a lasting love for learning while recognising that every child has unique potential in a nurturing environment where it can flourish.

MOE Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) Framework

We follow MOE’s Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) Framework, which means your child’s education balances academic readiness with character development, social skills and the joy of learning that sets them up for success in primary school and beyond. Our lessons incorporate these key learning areas:

  • Aesthetic and Creative Expression

  • Discovery of the World

  • Health, safety and motor skills development

  • Language and literacy

  • Numeracy

For infants at our Grantral Mall branch, we focus on building foundational communication skills and inspiring creativity through age-appropriate experiences that prepare them for their transition to preschool programmes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I enrol my child?

You may begin by booking a centre visit at your preferred location to see our facilities and meet our team. Complete the registration forms and submit required documents (child’s birth certificate, immunisation records, and parent identification). Our staff will guide you through the fees, transition process and arrange an orientation session to help your child settle comfortably into their new preschool environment.

Can I enrol mid-year?

Yes, we accept enrolments throughout the year subject to availability in your preferred programme and age group. Contact your preferred centre in Singapore directly to check current vacancies. We work with you to ensure a smooth transition for your child, regardless of when they join us during the academic calendar. Mid-year enrolment is a common practice, and children adapt well with our support.

Do you give priority to siblings?

Yes, siblings of current or former Junior Champs students receive enrolment priority. This allows families with multiple children to enjoy continuity in early childhood education. Kindly mention sibling details during registration, and our team will process your application accordingly.

What is your teacher-to-student ratio?

We maintain ratios well below the regulated requirements set by ECDA, ensuring each child receives meaningful individual attention. Our smaller class sizes allow educators to observe, support and respond to each child’s unique learning pace, developmental needs and interests throughout their preschool journey with us.

How is activity-based learning better?

Activity-based learning allows children to construct knowledge through direct experience rather than passive instruction. By engaging in hands-on exploration, creative projects and purposeful play, your child develops critical thinking, problem-solving abilities and genuine curiosity. This approach fosters deeper understanding, stronger retention and more joyful engagement with learning across all areas of development.

Do you operate during public holidays?

Junior Champs centres are closed on weekends and public holidays. Our centres operate Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm. Details (including closure dates and other special occasions) of the academic calendar will be provided during registration.

How do you handle allergies and dietary restrictions?

During enrolment, we collect detailed information about your child’s dietary requirements, allergies and medical conditions. Our staff are trained to manage food allergies carefully, and we work with families to provide suitable meal alternatives. Severe allergies are communicated to all relevant staff members, and emergency protocols are established for your child’s safety.

How often do you provide progress updates?

Parents receive regular updates through our dedicated app, including weekly activity photos, milestone achievements and observations. Staying connected is a key part of our partnership with families. Formal progress reports are provided termly and bi-annually, with parent-teacher conferences scheduled to discuss your child’s development in a detailed and meaningful way. Teachers are also available during drop-off and pick-up times for informal communication.

Can I transfer my child between centres?

Inter-centre transfers are possible subject to availability at your desired location. Contact both centres to discuss the transfer process, timing and any administrative requirements. We aim to make transitions as seamless as possible, maintaining continuity in your child’s learning experience across our preschools.

Do you have special education teachers?

Our educators are trained in inclusive practices and personalised teaching approaches to support diverse learning needs. For children requiring additional support, we work closely with parents and can recommend appropriate early intervention services or specialists. Please discuss your child’s specific needs with our centre staff during enrolment.

How do you accommodate children with different learning styles?

Our holistic curriculum and supportive learning environment help every child learn in the way that works best for them. Our educators make learning fun by adapting their approaches through activity-based experiences, whether your child loves hands-on exploration, visual discovery, movement or conversation. With our below-ratio class sizes, teachers provide the individualised attention that builds on your child’s natural strengths and helps them develop self-confidence as learners.

How do childcare Singapore fees differ for Singapore citizens and non-citizens?

Junior Champs’ fees vary based on citizenship status and programme level. Singapore citizens benefit from government subsidies, while Permanent Residents and foreigners have different fee structures. Three of our four centres operate under the Partner Operator Scheme (POP), offering affordable rates for eligible families. Contact your preferred centre or submit an enquiry for detailed fee information specific to your family’s situation.
